Bangkok’s week of 19–25 October moves from intimate acoustic concerts to book browsing, illustration and a large home-and-garden fair. The busiest dated events arrive towards the weekend, leaving room earlier in the week for a gallery visit, a market breakfast or a slower afternoon outdoors. These ten ideas mix specific events with clearly labelled ongoing experiences. Choose a few that share a neighbourhood, check the official information before leaving, and allow time to enjoy each stop.

1. Browse the opening weekend of Book Expo Thailand

Give your reading list a change of direction at Book Expo Thailand. The 2026 edition takes over three halls at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center under the theme “Unread Messages”. Rather than trying to cover everything, arrive with one subject in mind and leave space for an unexpected discovery. Bring a bag that is comfortable to carry if you plan to shop.

The fair opens on Friday, so it is an easy anchor for the second half of the week. A focused visit leaves time to compare books without turning the afternoon into a rush.

  • When: 23–25 October within this guide; the fair continues until 1 November. Daily 10:00–21:00.
  • Where: Khlong Toei: QSNCC, Exhibition Halls 5–7, Level LG.
  • Getting there: Use MRT Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre; follow the venue signs to the exhibition halls.
  • Budget: Budget for purchases; check the organiser’s current admission information before travelling.

2. Find a new favourite illustrator at Bangkok Illustration Fair

Illustration rewards looking closely: a character, a colour choice or a small printed story can make you stop. Bangkok Illustration Fair brings artists together to show and sell their work at centralwOrld PULSE. Browse before buying, and give yourself time to compare styles instead of treating the room as another shopping stop.

This is a dated opportunity to discover illustration during the week. The organiser’s 2026 announcement confirms the dates; some older ticket information remains on its website, so check the current admission notice rather than following a previous-year booking link.

  • When: 22–25 October. Visitor information lists 11:00–20:00, with a later opening on the first day; confirm Thursday’s entry time.
  • Where: Ratchaprasong: centralwOrld PULSE, seventh floor.
  • Getting there: BTS Siam or Chit Lom, then follow signs inside centralwOrld.
  • Budget: Check the organiser’s current 2026 admission details; allow separately for prints and other purchases.

3. Make an evening of live acoustic music at Southeastern Gathering

Bluegrass, Irish traditional music and old-time tunes bring a different soundtrack to Sukhumvit at Southeastern Gathering. Public House hosts six days of concerts, with close-up instrument sessions early in the week and a fuller weekend programme. Choose the setting that suits you: concentrated listening in a small room, or a longer afternoon moving between performances.

The Tuesday-to-Sunday run makes this more flexible than a single concert night. Friday is the advertised jam session; other performances should not be treated as open invitations to bring an instrument.

  • When: 20–25 October: Tue–Thu 19:00–21:00; Fri 19:00–22:00; Sat 15:00–21:00; Sun 11:00–15:00.
  • Where: Sukhumvit 31: Public House, 249 Soi Sukhumvit 31.
  • Getting there: Reserve the correct session through the organiser. Allow a taxi or walk from the Sukhumvit transit area.
  • Budget: Published Saturday advance ticket: THB 1,600; different sessions have different prices. Confirm remaining availability before paying.

4. Look at landscape differently at BACC’s People’s Gallery

Panom Sematong’s “Life container area: View from high to low” offers a small-scale art stop in central Bangkok. The exhibition uses views of scenery to consider nature and change. Look for how a shift in viewpoint changes what you notice, then take a second look at the work that first caught your attention.

The show remains on view throughout this week, making it a useful alternative to the busier fairs. It is also a compact introduction to BACC for visitors who prefer one focused exhibition to an ambitious gallery marathon.

  • When: 20–25 October this week, 10:00–20:00; BACC closes Mondays. Exhibition runs 6 October–1 November.
  • Where: Pathum Wan: BACC, People’s Gallery P3, second floor.
  • Getting there: BTS National Stadium; follow the centre’s signs to People’s Gallery.
  • Budget: Free admission, as listed by BACC.

5. Build a market breakfast at Or Tor Kor

Let breakfast become a short food exploration at Or Tor Kor. The market brings together fruit, ingredients and prepared food, giving you a way to discover Thai flavours without committing to one restaurant meal. Start by walking through the stalls, compare what is available, then order a manageable amount rather than buying everything at once.

A weekday morning makes a useful change from the weekend-market itinerary. Treat fruit displays as seasonal discoveries: the photograph illustrates the market experience, not a promise that a particular variety will be on sale.

  • When: During 19–25 October; TAT lists approximately 06:00–20:00. Individual stalls may keep shorter hours.
  • Where: Chatuchak: 101 Kamphaeng Phet Road.
  • Getting there: MRT Kamphaeng Phet. Check stall prices before ordering and bring a reusable bag.
  • Budget: Pay per dish or purchase. Fresh fruit can be priced at a premium; compare the displayed prices.

6. Leave time for a Thai massage at Loft Thai Spa

Between gallery visits and exhibition halls, leave room for a quieter appointment. Loft Thai Spa offers traditional clothed Thai massage using pressure, compression and assisted stretching, with durations of 60, 90 or 120 minutes. Choose a length that fits your day, and tell the therapist how much pressure feels comfortable rather than assuming a firmer treatment is always preferable.

The Phrom Phong location gives this week’s selection a practical Sukhumvit pause. Reserve the branch and treatment together so that the address, duration and appointment time match your plans.

  • When: Available as an ongoing service during the week; book a confirmed appointment. Sukhumvit 24 lists daily hours from 10:00 to midnight.
  • Where: Phrom Phong: Loft Thai Spa, Sukhumvit 24 branch.
  • Getting there: Near BTS Phrom Phong, Exit 5. Confirm the branch when booking.
  • Budget: Check the official booking page for the current price of your selected duration.

7. Collect home-and-garden ideas at Baanlaesuan Fair

Baanlaesuan Fair Living Festival turns a trip to Muang Thong Thani into a broad design outing. Furniture, garden products, building materials, crafts and outdoor-lifestyle ideas share the programme. Go with a specific project in mind—a balcony, a reading corner or a smaller living space—so the scale of the fair feels useful rather than overwhelming.

The opening weekend falls inside this edition. The organiser’s neighbourhood-inspired theme makes it relevant beyond large renovation projects, while free admission lets you explore without deciding in advance to buy.

  • When: 23–25 October this week, 10:00–21:00. The event continues until 1 November.
  • Where: Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi, just outside Bangkok: IMPACT Challenger Halls 2–3.
  • Getting there: Plan this as a separate outing and check IMPACT’s current transport guidance before departure.
  • Budget: Free admission; purchases, food and transport are extra.

8. Give contemporary art an unhurried afternoon at MOCA

MOCA Bangkok suits an afternoon when you want to spend longer with art rather than move between events. Explore at your own pace and pause over the works that make you curious. The museum also has a café and a shop with art-related publications and objects, so you can build in a break without immediately leaving the building.

This is an ongoing museum visit, not a claim about a new exhibition. Put it on a Tuesday-to-Sunday plan: arriving on Monday would mean finding the museum closed.

  • When: 20–25 October this week, 10:00–18:00. Closed Monday.
  • Where: Northern Bangkok: MOCA Bangkok, Kamphaeng Phet 6 Road.
  • Getting there: Use the museum’s official location map and allow time for the journey from central Bangkok.
  • Budget: Check the museum’s official ticket page for your applicable admission category.

9. Slow down among the chedis at Wat Pho

Wat Pho deserves more than a quick photograph and an immediate departure. After the main sights, make time for the temple’s decorated chedis and courtyards, looking at details and changing perspectives rather than trying to fit every corner into one picture. Keep your visit considerate: this remains a religious site as well as a major Bangkok attraction.

A morning temple stop balances the week’s indoor events. Plan it on its own terms, with appropriate clothing and enough time to walk slowly, instead of squeezing it between distant appointments.

  • When: Daily during 19–25 October; the official visit plan lists 08:00–19:30.
  • Where: Tha Tien, Phra Nakhon: Wat Pho, beside Sanam Chai and Maharaj roads.
  • Getting there: Use the temple’s official map; dress respectfully and follow on-site instructions.
  • Budget: The official visitor plan lists THB 300 admission; check applicable exemptions directly.

Wachirabenchathat Park, also known as Rot Fai Park, offers room for a walk, a cycle or a quiet sit among greenery. Keep the plan simple: choose a route that suits your energy, take water and allow time to stop when a garden corner catches your eye. You do not need to turn every Bangkok outing into a reservation.

This provides a flexible outdoor option around the fixed-date events. A morning visit can also fit with Or Tor Kor, while leaving the rest of the day open for other plans.

  • When: Daily during 19–25 October, 04:30–21:00, according to Bangkok’s park information.
  • Where: Lat Yao, Chatuchak: Wachirabenchathat Park, Kamphaeng Phet 3 Road.
  • Getting there: Choose your entrance on the official map; follow marked walking and cycling routes.
  • Budget: Park admission is free. Check any equipment-hire charges locally.
