Archive edition. This selection covers 23–25 October 2026 and is published retrospectively on 29 October 2026. The dated events belong to that past weekend; this is not a guide to the coming weekend. The original practical information is retained for reference. Check current official information before visiting any ongoing attraction.

This archived selection was prepared for 23–25 October 2026. Illustration, home design and acoustic music give 23–25 October three very different focal points. Bangkok Illustration Fair reaches its final weekend, Baanlaesuan opens at IMPACT, and Southeastern Gathering closes with a Sunday brunch. Around those fixed dates, choose a museum, a market morning or a walk above Benjakitti’s wetlands. These ten ideas are alternatives to build a weekend around, not a route to squeeze into one day. Two outings extend beyond Bangkok’s administrative boundary: IMPACT in Nonthaburi and Bang Nam Phueng in Samut Prakan.

1. Browse prints at Bangkok Illustration Fair’s final weekend

Go for the pleasure of looking closely: illustrated books, prints and artists’ display tables reward a slower circuit than a quick lap of the hall. Pick a few styles you like, compare the work and leave time to speak with exhibitors when they are available. The fair combines selling with discussion and professional exchange, so it offers more than a souvenir-shopping stop.

This is the last weekend of the 2026 fair; Sunday is its final day.

  • When: 23–25 October, 11am–8pm.
  • Where: Ratchaprasong: centralwOrld PULSE, seventh floor.
  • Getting there: Follow centralwOrld signage to PULSE; buy the appropriate day pass through the organiser.
  • Budget: Check the official ticket page for the current price.

2. Explore Baanlaesuan’s opening weekend at IMPACT

Bring a practical question to this home-and-garden fair: a small balcony to improve, a dining corner to furnish or a garden project to plan. Furniture, outdoor living, craft and building-material exhibitors give you a reason to compare ideas in person. Photographs and measurements from home can make browsing more useful; check delivery terms before committing to anything bulky.

The Living Festival opens on Friday, making this its first weekend rather than a last-minute closing visit.

  • When: 23–25 October, 10am–9pm; the fair continues until 1 November.
  • Where: Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi: IMPACT Challenger Halls 2–3.
  • Getting there: Plan travel to IMPACT separately from central Bangkok sightseeing.
  • Budget: Free admission; purchases and transport extra.

3. Hear Tray Wellington at Sunday’s Songs & Stories brunch

Give Sunday a seated musical centrepiece at Public House. Southeastern Gathering’s closing brunch pairs acoustic performances and stories with food, moving between Irish traditional music and bluegrass. The published running order places banjo player Tray Wellington at 1.25pm, followed by Bluegrass Police at 2.30pm. Arriving earlier lets you hear the programme develop instead of treating one set as a quick drop-in.

This is the festival’s final day; Monday’s edition focused on the earlier banjo evening.

  • When: Sunday 25 October, 11am–3pm; running order subject to change.
  • Where: Sukhumvit 31: Public House, 249 Soi Sukhumvit 31, Watthana.
  • Getting there: Reserve via the organiser’s Ticketmelon link; parking is limited.
  • Budget: Historical advertised Sunday ticket: 1,399 baht in advance or 1,499 at the door. This 25 October event has ended.

4. Give Chatuchak a focused art-and-collectibles morning

Choose a theme before entering Chatuchak: prints and posters, a useful household object or an unusual small gift. That makes a sprawling market easier to enjoy than a mission to see everything. Walk one section carefully, compare stalls and keep a photograph of the entrance map. Leave space for a snack rather than carrying every purchase through a full afternoon.

The full weekend market is a Saturday–Sunday option, useful for an unbooked morning between ticketed events.

  • When: Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October, 9am–6pm.
  • Where: Chatuchak: the weekend market.
  • Getting there: MRT Kamphaeng Phet Exit 2 or BTS Mo Chit Exit 1.
  • Budget: Free entry; set your own shopping and food budget.

5. Look inside Jim Thompson House with a guide

Swap mall interiors for wooden rooms, displayed objects and a guided account of the house. The main building is visited with a museum guide, which makes this a structured cultural pause rather than a self-directed photo stop. Ask about the room arrangement and the relationship between the house and its collections. The stairs matter when planning for anyone with reduced mobility.

Its daily guided visits provide a flexible counterpoint to the fair’s fixed closing weekend nearby.

  • When: 23–25 October, 10am–5pm; the museum lists its last guided tour at 5pm.
  • Where: Pathum Wan: 6 Soi Kasemsan 2, Rama I Road.
  • Getting there: BTS National Stadium Exit 1; main-house access requires a guide.
  • Budget: Adult admission: 250 baht.

6. Set aside time for a considered haircut at CAVERNES

A grooming appointment can be the quiet interval between a busy market morning and an evening out. At CAVERNES, make the consultation useful: bring a reference, explain how you normally style your hair and agree on the finish before the cut begins. Choose the service you need rather than assuming every treatment is included in one booking.

An ongoing weekend option for readers who prefer a personal-care appointment to another crowded attraction.

  • When: 23–25 October; the venue lists daily hours of 10am–8pm.
  • Where: Yen Akat: 15/1 Yen Akat Road, Chong Nonsi, Yan Nawa.
  • Getting there: Book ahead through the official site and confirm your selected appointment.
  • Budget: Check the official booking page for the current service price.

7. Make Museum Siam your indoor Old Town stop

Museum Siam offers a different way to approach Thai culture: spend time with the displays and questions, rather than just collecting a photograph of the building. Its learning-focused approach gives companions something to discuss afterwards. Allow an unhurried indoor visit, then decide whether to continue exploring the surrounding streets or head towards the river.

This is a useful flexible stop across all three days, with straightforward MRT access and a published admission price.

  • When: 23–25 October, 10am–6pm; normally closed on Mondays.
  • Where: Old Town: 4 Sanam Chai Road, Phra Nakhon.
  • Getting there: MRT Sanam Chai Exit 1.
  • Budget: Adult admission: 100 baht for Thai and foreign visitors.

8. Study Wat Arun’s porcelain details in the morning

The central prang rewards attention at close range: decorative fragments, repeating patterns and sculpted figures give the monument a different character from its familiar riverside silhouette. Look slowly around the accessible areas rather than making the visit only about climbing. This remains a working temple, so give worshippers space and keep clothing appropriate for the setting.

Choose a morning visit to leave room for Museum Siam across the river, rather than adding another late-night commitment.

  • When: Any day, 23–25 October; plan around 9–11am within the published daytime opening.
  • Where: Bangkok Yai: Wat Arun on the west bank of the Chao Phraya.
  • Getting there: Use Wat Arun pier; cover shoulders and knees, and follow temple access signs.
  • Budget: Check the current temple admission charge; boat fares are separate.

9. Browse food and community stalls at Bang Nam Phueng

For a change of scale, head to this community market in Phra Pradaeng, outside Bangkok proper. Browse local produce, prepared food and small craft goods, choosing a few things as you go rather than ordering a large meal immediately. The shaded walkways and canal-side setting make the outing feel distinct from Chatuchak’s much larger shopping circuit.

Saturday or Sunday morning suits the market’s regular weekend operation; treat it as a separate excursion.

  • When: Saturday 24 or Sunday 25 October, from 8am; aim for a morning visit.
  • Where: Bang Nam Phueng, Phra Pradaeng, Samut Prakan.
  • Getting there: Plan onward and return transport before leaving Bangkok.
  • Budget: Food and shopping priced by individual stalls; transport extra.

10. Finish with a walk above Benjakitti’s wetlands

Keep this outing deliberately simple: follow the walking paths, pause above the wetland planting and watch the city buildings change against the evening sky. Benjakitti’s elevated paths make the landscape part of the walk itself. Comfortable shoes and water are more useful than an ambitious distance target, especially after a day spent standing at an exhibition.

A flexible outdoor ending balances the weekend’s halls, shops and appointments; change plans if the weather makes walking unpleasant.

  • When: 23–25 October; the city lists daily park hours of 4.30am–10pm.
  • Where: Khlong Toei: Benjakitti Park, Ratchadaphisek Road.
  • Getting there: MRT Queen Sirikit National Convention Center or the Asok–Sukhumvit area.
  • Budget: Allow for transport and refreshments; check posted charges for optional facilities.

Plan your Bangkok outing

The dated music and illustration events in this edition have ended. For a future outing, use the current News guides and recheck admission, opening hours and booking details with each venue. The permanent attractions remain ideas to research: pair centralwOrld with Jim Thompson House, or Museum Siam with a separate morning at Wat Arun.
